Dehydration and fine lines

What do you notice ?

For some time now, has your skin's natural radiance disappeared to such an extent that it seems to have gone into stand-by mode? It is dull, feels tight and becomes uncomfortable. Less supple and plump, fine lines have even appeared at the outer corners of the eyes, on the cheekbones, around the mouth and everywhere where the skin is finer. In the most extreme cases, it can even start to flake! The signs are clear: your skin is 'thirsty'!

Did you know ?

Take the plunge

The skin of the face is ideally made up of 70% water. However, on a daily basis, certain factors can disturb this moisture balance, irrespective of its type (oily, combination or dry skin). Evaporation of the water naturally present may be due to drying skincare (overly aggressive cleansing or exfoliation), environmental conditions (sun, air conditioning, pollution), hormonal variations, skin ageing or medication. Dehydration lines appear. To reduce the appearance of these lines you must help trap water within the stratum corneum using formulas containing humectant ingredients, and help improve the skin's barrier function by using rich creams containing occlusive ingredients to create a protective film on the skin's surface.

What you should do

Combine a high-performance duo: a concentrated moisturising serum and a moisturising cream with sun protection factor, all specially designed for sensitive skin.

What you should avoid

  • Avoid harsh environments (UVs, heating, cold, wind, pollution).
  • Limit overly hard water

"Hi, I'm in my early 20s and I'm not sure which eye cream to use seeing as many of them seem to focus on the reduction of lines and wrinkles. I have Rosacea on my cheeks so I currently use the Rosaliac cream and Effaclar face wash. I also use the Rosaliac make-up removal gel too but this makes my skin feel tight and dry; I can relieve most of this using the Rosaliac cream but this can't be used around the eye. Which eye cream should I use to relieve this tight feeling? I don't want to leave this area unprotected. Thank-you x "

For hydration around the eye area I would recommend considering our Hydraphase intense eye gel or Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour. Both products soothe and hydrate. The Hydraphase will be more cool as it is gel based.

"Hello I am age 54. I bought serum 10 and I am pleased with it. I would like however to apply a cream after this serum, do you think Emollience would be suitable to apply after this serum? I started sagging a little bit and my skin on the neck is wrinkled. Thank you very much Kind regards Monica"

Hi there, Monica – thank you for getting in touch. I’m glad to hear that you have been enjoying our Serum 10. In regards to a cream to apply over this, you may wish to consider the Emollience for rich hydration, however: for the best results in addressing your skin concerns, I would have a look at the A.G.E. Interrupter which will help you further. Alternatively, you could have a look at the Face Cream which will also help you with your skin concerns – please click here for further information: I hope this helps and if you have any further questions or queries, please do let me know!
